LA ARAÑA VAMPIRO
There’s a young man and his father. There’s a trip into an isolated place looking for peace and quiet since the son is having panic attacks. There’s a cottage and a level of isolation (plus an actor, Alejandro Awada) that echo Fabián Bielinsky’s The Aura. There’s also a young urban boy’s lack of adaptation to this “wild” place. To make matters worse –and trigger this journey within journey– a big menacing spider appears. As the film title hints, this spider is unlike any other. And Medina’s film, as it happened with The Paranoids, is not just any other film in the context of Argentine cinema.
